We FINALLY got a new crib mattress for Baby E. We were waiting because we thought there was going to be moving in our future but since that is not the issue anymore, we went ahead a bought her the mattress she desires. The one that we had before was used and who knows how old it was. This new one is the Sealy Baby Posturepedic Mattress it's plush and has 220 inner springs coils. Now I am wondering if this will make a difference with her sleeping habits. Don't get me wrong she is a good little sleeper but the problem lies in getting her to sleep. Every night and every nap is a fight in our home. She will fall asleep anywhere but as soon as she goes in the crib she wakes up yelling. We have grown accustom to this behavior so it doesn't bother us anymore. I am just wondering if this new mattress will help or will she Forever be a bedtime fighter?

Um, am I missing something? Hale Parents? What?! I'm so confused. Anyway, congrats on the new mattress! I hope it brings many successful restful naps and nights! Naps and night time are my biggest struggles at the moment and my kids are 3. Is that encouraging? On the flip side, the trouble really didn't begin until they were about 18 months and their parents fled the country without them for 2 weeks.. Yup...that'll do it to them! Hope you all are well! ~Jule
Okay....I'm still a firm believer in the 3-nite rule if your baby screams when they hit the mattress for sleeptime. You let them cry. DO NOT GO BACK IN THERE! After three nites of blood-curdling screaming they will stop.....on the fourth nite. And I'm not making this up!

Now Jesse was a different story. I put him in his crib and cranked his mobile of flying airplanes that played "Fly me to the Moon" and he would fall asleep before the song was over. It was amazing!!!!!
Seriously, I agree with the 'cry it out' method. Your kids will learn that it's nap time and sleep time at a certain hour. Just remember to be consistent with napping and sleeping times, and you can't go wrong!
