Baby Genius

I just wanted you to know our baby is a genius! Yesterday she was laying on the floor on her back and she rolled to her side all by herself. Once again she was on Jesse's lap and she rolled to her side. Now I don't know if this is normal for a 6 day old baby but we were pretty amazed. It's funny how when someone else's baby does something cool you don't get as excited as when it's your own little angel!

Lazer Baby!

So yesterday we had to return little Elizabeth to the hospital again so she could lay in the tanning booth for a few hours. As you can see in the pictures she wasn't happy with the whole thing. She had pretty bad jaundice and was losing too much weight but a few times in the tanning booth and a couple bottles of manufactured breast milk (which made her farts smell like a rotten volcano) cured everthing. She has returned home and is getting fat off the breast finally. Hooray!

HALF-GRADUATION DAY!

So I participated in the graduation ceremony at BYU-H yesterday even though I am not finished with school. I have one more heavy semester left so I didn't get the feeling of accomplishment that normal graduates receive. It just felt like a necessary formality. The graduation ceremony lasted more than I could handle though. The video shows me when I get my diploma. I tripped on the grey floor mat after shaking hands with all the big guys.

This and That

It has been awhile since I have written. I guess it doesn't really bother me, I am not the type that needs to blog everyday. As long as I write in my journal I am ok with things. Well Jesse's Dad and his wife came to visit. They arrived last Saturday and left this Sunday. They came here for Jesse's graduation and the birth of our child but they only saw one of those events. Yes it is true I am still pregnant. We did go to the hospital because my contractions have been consistently five min apart and we live an hour away but after being there awhile the nurses told me they could induce me or send me home, I chose home. Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with being induced just at that time I didn't feel it was right. But come next week I am all for it. The graduation was wonderful. It was more structured than I imagined and shorter as well but great anyway. The main speaker was M. Russell Ballard who is an apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was an amazing talk if you want to listen to it you can probably find it at http://www.byuh.edu/ or http://www.lds.org/. Also Jesse's sister and her family are here. They stayed with us for a few days while waiting for their place to open up. It was so much fun having them in our home because we miss them so much and love them. Our niece, Rachel, is the cutest little three year old you will ever see. The last person to leave will be my mother in law on Christmas day. She brought her friend on this trip, Mardelle, who is just the coolest lady ever. I'm glad to call her my friend now. It really has been fun having everyone here because we rarely see anyone, it has been a year since we left this island for the mainland. Now our priorities are having baby Elizabeth so when ever that may happen you will know about it. Oh yeah I almost forgot. On Saturday Jesse was at ponders with his friends, swimming while they were surfing and he swam right into Chris's fin. He cut his head open and had to get staples in his head. It was not a happy moment for me. He is so used to hurting himself but I am still getting used to those things.

I just want to sleep

Tonight was the first night in a long time that I just haven't been able to sleep. I had thought I trained my unborn child to sleep when I sleep but now she is awake. I woke up this morning at about two a.m. and haven't been able to sleep since. I tried sleeping on my side, sitting up, leaning on pillows hunched over and on my knees. Nothing seems to work tonight. This baby has been up for the longest time just moving around. One would think that she has no room in there since her head is stuck in my pelvis ( ha ha) but she sure makes room to move all around. So now I am just sitting here listening to the rain. I would like her to come out now but I guess she is not ready. Maybe she is being nice and waiting for Jesse's and my finals to be over for school. If that is the case she is such a sweet little girl! ! ! For those who weren't updated, the doctor said this past week when I went that I should only have a week left because my insides are looking ripe. ha ha ha ( that's the only way I could explain it without getting to detailed.) I'm so tired! I have to admit I did think about taking cough medicine to make me fall asleep but no worries I didn't give into temptation. Awwwww. OK I am going to try this again and see if I have any success.

Christmas Time

So this year when we were pulling out the tree and decorations we realized, we don't really have any decorations at all. This was sad news to us so we went around our little town and tried to find something to help out our situation. Since our little town of Laie only has an Ace Hardware and a grocery store our options were limited. Walmart is over an hour away and there is no such thing as Target here. So wandering around Foodland I came up with the superb idea to wrap our wall with wrapping paper. I know I am a genius. We got red paper and tree paper and taped it to the wall. Jesse was really serious about it because the whole time he was yelling "Make sure there are no air bubbles" as we were taping it up. After a while it got really annoying but hey it's up and it doesn't look half bad!

It's a Thanksgiving Miracle

So I went to the doctor today for my 36 week check up and found out I didn't gain a single ounce over the last two weeks which included thanksgiving. I have no clue how this happened. Now if I was the type of pregnant woman that could only eat a little bit at a time this would be understandable but since I eat whole foot longs from subway by myself in one sitting, I ate at least two plates of food at each of the three Thanksgiving dinners I attended and I never exercise, I don't see how this could be. Never the less the doctor says this is totally normal since I have gained sufficient weight for the pregnancy and a miracle. Elizabeth still grew over the two weeks and in four days I will be full term and can have this baby anytime. Now I am not expecting to pop this baby out for at least two more weeks but we shall wait and see.

Ok I'm in....

Finally i have set up a blog. Now this doesn't mean i am committing to writing often but the initial step is complete. Taylor and I have figured out how things work and now the future of blogging awaits. Some may say blogging is a waste of time but i see it as a release or a wonderful way to see what is going on in the lives of the people around you. Just wait to see what crazy or annoyingly boring things may come from my fingertips. Hahahahaha
